The Advanced Accordion brings even more flexibility when building custom accordions to condense content. With the Advanced tool, you can set the accordion’s open/closed starting position, customize the images that link to content, and utilize RGL technology within the condensed content.
Our primary focus is building out-of-home advertisements, so FiddleFly has helped us create back-end mobile experiences to connect with and extend the interaction with our displays.
First, don’t hesitate. Mobile is becoming a cornerstone piece of any business, to the point that not thinking mobile first is doing a huge disservice to customers.
Just as important as creating a mobile experience for customers, is focusing on mobile marketing. Companies are short-sighted if they are not developing a mobile marketing strategy since plain and simple that is where your audience is spending their time.
Our customers are advertisers, and the answer to that is, ‘not nearly as quickly as they should be’. Consumers have already embraced mobile in a big way, but there is a huge discrepancy between mobile web use and mobile ad/web spend. One thing we know, our customers’ customers are creating a demand for better mobile experiences.
I actually was drawn to FiddleFly first through an article published by Alex (Kutsishin) that talked about mobile advertising with a philosophy that I agreed with. I met with the team and was impressed with the agency-side understanding and support they offered. Eventually I got to see the actual FiddleFly software in action and it was equally impressive, but the understanding of the industry was what originally got the ball rolling.
We realized that mobile is the great enabler in terms of marketing. The mobile experience you provide is the true test of a product or brand since it is how your customers will take your message with them. Mobile is so ingrained in the culture now that to ignore it would be insane.
It’s been great. We could not deliver relevant content in the mobile space in a timely manner before we started using FiddleFly. It can be so hard for people to visualize content on the mobile platform and since all of our projects are mobile-first, FiddleFly is perfect for generating great content (be it layouts, previews, or front-end concepting) quickly. It has become what we like to call the “Magic Show” that gives our customers a true visual sense of what their projects will become.
When mobile first started to emerge, I had no clue what I would do with it but I knew right away I wanted to be a part of it. I saw that there was this exciting influx of newer and cooler devices and yet somehow web content for those devices was not getting cooler, it was kind of stuck in the Stone Age. I realized I don’t think there is anything more relevant or useful to the world that I could design right now than mobile content.
Right now, it’s a challenge convincing people they need mobile, but I can’t wait until people start to catch up with what we are thinking because there is going to be an amazing boom of creativity when they do.
We actually found FiddleFly through a developer that was raving about the tool. We tried out a number of other mobile web building options and were pretty unimpressed with the lack of customization. What we liked most about FiddleFly aside from the software was the unique, agency feel they have. It’s just a totally different experience.
Know your demographic. Mobile-first applies to everyone, but being able to create really targeted content for your specific audience creates way better experiences.
Also, don’t be afraid to embrace the chaos. We keep thinking we are farther along than we probably are, and you’ll have to be patient in helping your customers catch up. Mobile is new and exciting and awesome, but it is also unfamiliar to most and constantly changing. Once you take the leap of faith, and help your customers do the same, the mobile space is easy to be successful in since there is so much opportunity to be had.
